Good Butcher
« on: July 25, 2009, 09:47:46 AM »
Hey guys looking for a good butcher in either Enumclaw, Buckley, Sumner, Bonney Lake, Auburn or even Puyallup area. The place I liked doesnt do it anymore and I need to be prepared since Bear opens in about a week. Anyone know a good butcher who isn't too expensive. Looking to get alot of sausage and hamburger if I get a bear. Possibly will take them my deer this year too. Any help would be great. Thanks! :)

I don't know of any butchers in those areas, but I can tell you that it will be a lot cheaper if you skin the bear and bone it out before you take it in. Especially since you're only wanting hamburger and sausage out of it.

I have used Butcher Boys in Puyallup for the last few years.  Bob I believe is the owner's name and works with his family there.  They have always done a good job for me and at a very fair price.

Thanks Rasbo. I will probably give them a try. I used to go to Green Valley but Green Valley is no longer doing wild game. Told me too many people whining or accusing them of taking meat. I spoke with them last Friday. It's a shame I really like the job they did. Oh well I will try someone else.

Ps. Rasbo you hear anything about Hancock being closed due to fire danger? My buddy just called me and said that's what he heard.

For Bear, I have been extremely please with Doug's Quality Meats in Kent.  Over the past few years he has done four of my bears.  Smoked Hams and pepperoni are awesome!  He does a great job vacuum sealing everything nice & tight.  I will be using him again this year.
